Thomas "Sonny" Santos

Major Sonny Santos (retired) is a 26-year veteran of the Honolulu Police Department and served in Patrol, Narcotics Vice, Criminal Investigation Division and the Crime Reduction Unit. Sonny recently retired from HPD in December of 2021 and still serves as a reserve officer for the same agency. Since 2014, Sonny and his team have trained over 3000 first responders in Level 1, Level 2, Active Attack Integrated Response, CRCC and subsequent table top and scenario-based exercises. Sonny has a Master's degree in Public Administration, from Wayland Baptist University. He also holds FEMA credentials in teaching All Hazards Incident Management and several ICS courses. Major Santos is a member of the Honolulu All Hazards Incident Management team (type 3) and is credentialed in the positions of Incident Commander and Operations Section Chief.
