Danton Kerz is a member of the Planning Section - Suffolk County Urban Search and Rescue Team. Prior to assuming this role, Mr. Kerz was the Emergency Manager, EMS Coordinator, and Safety Officer for six years for Peconic Bay Medical Center located in New York. In this role, he was responsible for the emergency preparedness program, including planning activities, training, exercises, and coordinating response to incidents affecting Medical Center Operations. Mr. Kerz also served as Deputy Chairperson for the Suffolk County ESF-8 Health & Medical Work Group, where hospitals and local, county, state, and federal agencies coordinated trainings and exercises across the region. Through Suffolk County ESF-8, Mr. Kerz organized multiple conferences and seminars focused on the importance of coordinated response to active shooter and mass casualty incidents. Mr. Kerz has helped design and conduct multiple regional Full Scale HSEEP Compliant exercises.
